HOURS: Monday-Friday; 2-6 PM; Additional hours on school breaks and summer months.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Lutheran Social Services Childcare & Education Services emphasize hands-on, enriching activities that keep children engaged in learning. In these positions, members will research, plan, prepare, and implement fun and creative health, recreation and wellness activities for children aged 4 weeks to grade five in a childcare setting. Members will help youth attending the program maximize their social, emotional and behavioral potential and assist youth in their educational goals.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: Energetic, enthusiastic and a strong desire to work with infant/toddler, preschool and school-aged children. Must have a valid driver’s license. This is an AmeriCorps position that requires a one year commitment to complete 900 hours of service (an additional three years of service are possible). AmeriCorps members need to be team-orientated, motivated individuals with a passion for serving and learning. Members will be compensated through a monthly stipend (amounting to $7900 annual) and upon completion of service, will receive an Education Award (amounting to $2750) that can be used for higher education purposes (tuition or repayment of student loans).
