Description:
Since 1984, Lutheran Social Services Consumer Credit Counseling Service has been dedicated to educating and empowering individuals and families to master their finances. To fulfill this mission, CCCS provides free and low cost services including individual budget counseling, debt management, and community education. In this position, a member will plan, schedule and present a variety of one- and two-hour financial literacy workshops in community settings. They will also assist in promoting the broad range of services offered by CCCS throughout the region.
This is an AmeriCorps position with a service hour requirement of 1700 hours in approximately one year. Benefits include health insurance and education award. May be eligible for childcare assistance.
Requirements:
Energetic, enthusiastic and committed to adult education. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have excellent public speaking ability. Member must have strong organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of the credit industry is preferred. This is an AmeriCorps position that requires a one year commitment to complete 1700 hours of service (an additional year of service is possible). AmeriCorps members need to be team-orientated, motivated individuals with a passion for serving and learning. Members will be compensated through a monthly stipend (amounts to $15,792 annually) and upon completion of service, will receive an Education Award ($5500) that can be used for higher education purposes only (current tuition or repayment of federally backed student loans).
