Description:
Piping Estimator Responsibilities:
• Prepare estimates and supplementary information for potential projects using estimating software
• Prepare and analyze estimate formats in such areas as: general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs, bid analysis and job cost analysis for projects
• Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors and negotiating price
• Read, understand and offer improvements to contract documents; Offer Value-Engineering & Life Cycle cost options for review
• Analyze job cost and quantify and all special conditions or considerations captured during take-off
• Prepare and verify all material and labor take-off data prior to posting on bid spreadsheet
Requirements:
Piping Estimator Requirements:
• Must have the ability to read and understand the following:
-Piping flow diagrams
-Piping isometric drawings
-2-D piping drawings
• Must have at least 2-5 years of previous experience as a Mechanical Piping Estimator
• Must be proficient in schedule creating and man power loading charts
• Must have experience in computerized take-off using Quickpen software or equivalent
• Advanced skill level with Microsoft applications such as Microsoft Project, Excel and Word
• Candidate must have strong communication skills across all levels and possess strong customer interface experience
