Position can be located in Aberdeen (preferred) or in Sioux Falls as an alternate location Candidates must possess a minimum LPC-MH licensure and at least a CDCT (or capable of getting Training level within 90 days of hire). Must have at least 3 years of direct patient counseling experience. Ability to evaluate and diagnose mental/emotional and/or chemical dependency disorders of individuals through observation, interview, and assessment tools, and formulate and administer programs for treatment. This position provides direct mental health and substance abuse care to adults and adolescents. Must have knowledge of: basic theories and techniques used in counseling and crisis intervention and chemical dependency issues; treatment planning, charting, report writing and data collection; and sociological, economic backgrounds; be a positive role mode; work collaboratively and communicate quickly and accurately with multi-disciplinary staff; receive oral communications from patients and relate that information accurately to others. Must have the ability to generate new ideas (sustainability) and contribute to the team’s mission. Knowledge of state STARS system is beneficial . Must be aggressive with program follow-up to maintain participation rates. Experience with working with patients and/or programs relating to Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault is extremely beneficial for operation of certain criteria to meet grant requirements.

Must have high proficiency and experience with EHR systems and must be extremely proficient with using computer systems. Must be capable of independent work, organized and manage multi-tasks. Some travel to national conferences required and in-state travel to other program sites. Knowledgeable of Native American culture and traditions preferred.
