Role: To enter bills of material (BOM) and routing information into Oracle for use when scheduling work orders; to update BOM and routing information as necessary based on feedback from production; and to create BOMs and routings using appropriate guidelines. To enter and schedule work orders in Oracle, balancing capacity with requested ship dates and material availability as a back-up to lead scheduler.
Essential job responsibilities:
1.Enter BOMs and routings in Oracle, understanding how those settings will affect job schedule, capacity, material availability and inventory levels in the plant.
2.Use a combination of guidelines and historical data to determine proper run times, operations, BOM components, and quantities when information is not provided and work with engineering department to ensure that those guidelines are being followed.
3.Update and maintain BOMs and routings.
4.Update and create Excel and Word documents; look for ways to improve systems and procedures to improve efficiencies.
5.Enter work orders (jobs) in Oracle, process change orders, and update and maintain available capacity for each department while performing a variety of checks for accuracy, capacity, and material availability while communicating necessary changes to necessary parties.
6.Understand how work orders flow and be able to analyze exceptions to ensure accurate disposition of work orders and use a system to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained on planned subassemblies and finished goods in the plant.
7.Read and understand job packet information and shop drawings to ensure that proper drawings are sent out with job packets and that job packets are accurate.
8.Work overtime and irregular hours as needed.
