Fence Crew Foreman:

Complete Fence is looking for an individual that is a great communicator, problem solver, is self motivated and can work independently while equally driven by winning as a team, to develop as a Fence Crew Foreman.  The fence industry is rapidly evolving in products and installation practices, so while a strong skillset in construction, tools/equipment, knowledge of fence practices is a must - we value strong leadership, positive attitude, and commitment to continued learning and growth, to be above years experience.

Pay: $28.00 -$38.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY 

The position of Foreman will be responsible for overseeing each job to completion. Reviews the job proposal and job site to determine equipment and tool needs, plan time allotment, decide workload for self and installers, and observe and prevent potential safety hazards. Takes responsibility for assembling appropriate tools, equipment, and assigning tasks to installers, moving the job toward completion to ensure efficiency and quality. Keeps in contact with the customer to aid in understanding of and satisfaction with the job. Responsible for completing and turning in all necessary job paperwork. Supports the management and mission of the company. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assigns tasks, motivates, and trains installer(s), on proper handling of materials, tools, approved methods of installations and repair work.  

  • Ensures company policies and procedures, as well as safety guidelines are followed.  

  • Tracks hours of installers and moves job progress to completion at a pace to ensure quality, efficiency and profitability. 

  • Communicates with customers throughout the job to aid in understanding and satisfaction of work.  

  • Ensures that the customer is aware of any changes to the job before making any such change and responsible to keep the customer routinely updated on progress and timeline to finish the project.  

  • Will be responsible to take pictures at job sites per procedure.  

  • Review installation in as much detail as the customer requests upon completion of the job. Ultimately responsible to ensure customer satisfaction with job completion prior to leaving the job site and moving on to the next job site.  

  • Provides customers with final paperwork and collects balance due for job.  

  • Prior to starting each job reviews job specifications with the Production Manager to determine materials, tools and equipment needed for the job.  

  • Responsible for coordinating efforts with both the Production Manager and Shop Foreman on the staging and loading of all trucks with quoted materials, tools and equipment in a well-thought-out and efficient manner. 

  • Communicate on a consistent basis with the Production Manager and or Production Department ensuring all paperwork is done completely and accurately and given to all parties.  

  • Have a clear understanding of the materials budgeted for the quote and the number of man hours needed to achieve gross margin percentage goal (GM%). 

  • Assesses conditions of the job once on-site, plans time allotment, tools needed and order of work determining workload for crew.  

  • Adjusts for conditions, makes changes from original job order as necessary, troubleshoots situations, innovates processes on the spot in order to complete the job meeting company standards and timetables. 

  • Responsible for preparing and to perform Semi-Annual, comprehensive reviews in conjunction with Production Manager on all team member assignments.    

  • Will be responsible for all equipment, tools and supplies assigned to their inventory both in physical or monetary value.  

  • Responsible for scheduling of standard maintenance and general care of the production truck assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree equivalent (GED) 

Experience:  

  • One-year related fencing or construction trades experience preferred 

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience 

Basic Skills:  

  • Ability to add, subtract and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent 

  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs 

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and working knowledge of software is preferred 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Vision-Must be able to read reports, data and statistics on computer screen (75-100%) 

  • Hearing-Must be able to hear and communicate on telephone and in person (75-100%) 

  • Standing/Walking (75-100%) 

  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling (75-100%) 

  • Must be able to lift up 100lbs of force occasionally up to 80 lbs of force frequently, and up to 20lbs of force consistently to move objects.
