Job Summary:


Colorado Brake and Supply, one of the region’s largest truck service and parts provider, has an opening for a General Manager to lead the establishment of Colorado Brake and Supply in Commerce City, Colorado. This position will also manage our Truck Tire Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The primary responsibility for the General Manager is to be a leader of our team. The leader is accountable for achieving the sales and profitability goals. This role provides direction and leadership to the department managers, while responsible for customer satisfaction and market share.

 

Colorado Brake & Supply, along with our partners at Colorado Truck Parts and C & M Rebuilders, provides service for heavy and medium duty, commercial, day cab, and other trucks, as well as forklifts, liftgates, boxes, and snow plows. We also perform electrical and frame work, engine diagnostics, and brake service. Our truck and trailer parts departments stock relined brake shoes, brake parts, and include vendors like Bendix, Federal Mogul, Eaton and Fuller. We are an authorized dealership for sales of Western Plows, Rugby Dumps, Kzee Flatbeds, Tommy Gate Lift Gates, Waltco Lift Gates, and Thieman Lift Gates. We are also a Continental Tire authorized dealer.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Owns the full P&L and has responsibility for the overall vision, strategy, and year-over-year profitable growth of the business with an emphasis on growth, productivity, operational excellence and communication at all levels.
  • Develop, motivate, and manage multi location organization.
  • Manage all operational and financial aspects of business.
  • Meet sales revenue and profit goals.
  • Develop and forecast annual sales quotas for territories, project expected sales volume, analyze results and trends, track competition, recommend pricing strategies and monitor costs.
  • Lead sales team to develop and implement sales strategies that align with overall objectives.
  • Communicate and resolve customer issues as needed.
  • Travel to customer locations as needed.
  • Provide timely and candid performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Provide direction of hiring, promotion, and training of staff, ensuring company policies are followed.
  • Always be alert for ways to eliminate waste and otherwise reduce expenses and assure that subordinates are trained to do likewise.
  • Maintain working knowledge of company systems, including applicable computer systems and programs.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all products, including ability to apply and make effective sales presentations.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to communicate new products and policy announcements, to coordinate and inspire the sales team, and to get feedback from the sales staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Successful P&L leadership track record as a standalone leader of an organization with multi-site manufacturing with full P&L and balance sheet responsibility.
  • Knowledge of distribution industry with preference on fluid power or material handling products
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency: Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated trust and integrity.


Education and Experience:

  • Strong sales and management experience
  • Experience within the truck industry is helpful but not required.


Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
