Job Responsibilities

• Identify and generate leads through various sources such as referrals, networking, and cold calling.
• Assess clients' insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage options.
• Explain different insurance policies and help clients understand their benefits, terms, and conditions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and assisting with policy renewals and claims.
• Meet or exceed sales targets by effectively promoting and selling a wide range of insurance products, including auto, home, renters, commercial, and life insurance.
• Actively prospect and cross-sell insurance products to existing and potential clients.
• Stay updated on industry trends, insurance products, and regulations to effectively educate clients and stay ahead of competitors.
• Prepare and present insurance quotes to clients, clearly explaining coverage details, premiums, and discounts.
• Coordinate with underwriters and insurance carriers to ensure timely processing and underwriting of policies.
• Follow up with leads and potential clients to close sales and secure new business opportunities.
• Persistently and effectively follow sales scripts and objection-handling techniques to overcome client concerns.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in our customer relationship management (CRM) system.
• Participate in regular sales training and professional development programs to enhance sales skills and product knowledge.
• Collaborate with fellow team members to achieve overall agency goals and foster a positive and supportive work environment.

Requirements

• Valid state insurance license for South Dakota (or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe).
• Prior experience in insurance sales or a similar role is preferred.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Self-motivated and driven to succeed in a competitive sales environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively in a team setting.
• Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant tools.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
