This is a PAID 12 week internship.
The Finance Intern will be involved in a variety of general accounting functions while providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Assist in all aspects of financial transactions in accordance with company and departmental policies and procedures, and in compliance with GAAP.
Assist with P&L analysis including trend identification and monitoring, and budget to actual analysis of expenses.
Analyze and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and activities ensuring each account has proper documentation and complies with GAAP.
Perform internal control procedures.
Participate in the monthly close ensuring an accurate and timely process.
Support Finance department with special projects.
Priorities and organizes own work to meet deadlines.
Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
Adhere to Midcontinent Communications privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED required.
Enrolled in an accredited business school with strong academic credentials; Finance or Accounting major preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 30 lbs.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Employee may be required to travel if necessary.
