Job Description
Performs skilled work in the area of welding, repairing and fabrication of county highway equipment and performs skilled maintenance and repair work on a wide variety of light, medium, and heavy mechanized/automotive equipment.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITES: Performs tasks as assigned and necessary, including but not limited to:
* Services and repairs all county motorized vehicles and equipment.
* Maintains parts supply room, including inventory control.
* Picks up parts and supplies as needed.
* Cleans and maintains county highway shop and supply room.
* Attends training sessions and meetings as required.
* Maintains good public relations with the other employees and the general public.
* Welds, fabricates, and repairs county highway equipment.
* Cuts and loads culverts and planks.
* Removes snow from county parking lots.
* Operates payloader, trucks, and tractors to assist with snow removal, gravel
Hauling and mowing of road ditches as needed.
* Picks up and delivers parts, supplies and equipment as needed by
the department and other county employees.
* Performs other such duties and functions as are assigned and are necessary to the
proper performance of this position.
