Duties

We are looking for a Surety Underwriting Assistant to join our team in Sioux Falls, SD!

Summary -

Provide support and assistance to surety underwriting staff by handling administrative and routine underwriting tasks.


A typical day will include the following:

Responsible for accurate premium registration and invoicing, coding, pricing and commission calculations.

Responsible for performing technical support functions and coordinating resolutions of technical support problems in the office.

Researches premium entry and premium collection problems.  Reviews with underwriter or operations manager for proper resolution.

Assists with the pursuit of information from broker/agents, and miscellaneous administrative duties.  This will include, but is not limited to processing of broker/agent licensing, and contract and power of attorney administration.

Processes bid and final bond requests within underwriting authority limits established for the account with underwriter supervision.

Assists in gathering routine underwriting data and prescreens underwriting information as requested by underwriter.

Ensures proper completion of bond forms and compliance with state requirements and maintains account and bond files as directed.

Assists with inputting financial "work in progress" data received from contractors, utilizing computerized underwriting systems.

Job Requirements

* High School Diploma or equivalency required
* Surety or Insurance experience desired but not required
