We are looking for a Construction Fleet Mechanic to join our team. If you enjoy working on construction vehicles on a regular basis, enjoy physical labor and are safety oriented, then this could be the position for you!

Position Summary:

Responsible to diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and pneumatic equipment used in construction, such as cranes, trucks, motor graders, loaders, and asphalt equipment, as well as small engines and accessories.

• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Open/close Work Orders, approve invoices and time on in-house construction software.
• Assist in coordination of internal and externally rented equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to provide your own hand tools.
• Good knowledge of safe work practices in the shop and field.
• Good oral communication skills, interacts appropriately with others.
• Analytical and critical thinking with problem solving skills
• Ability to work alone or with others in a friendly and cooperative manner.

Education and Experience
• Requires 3-5 years or more experience working as a truck/heavy equipment mechanic.
• Valid Class A and evidence of insurability required, or ability to obtain.
