REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:

Two years successful post high school education. District experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.wo years successful post high school education

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

At least one year of work experience in a position requiring interpersonal interaction skills, knowledge of programming for students with disabilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent keyboarding, use of wrists, hands, fingers, speaking, typing, and writing. Frequent filing, sitting, standing, and walking.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer proficiency in spreadsheets, and databases, and word processing. Demonstrated ability to work well with others. Demonstrated organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

Clerical - Class III

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff, students, parents, and the public.
  2. Answer phones, screen calls, and route inquiries appropriately.
  3. Handles and distributes mail.
  4. Distribute school-wide communications, announcements, newsletters, or bulletins.
  5. Manage office schedules, calendars, and meeting logistics for administrators 18-21 Transition Program Coordinator.
  6. Coordinate communication between departments, teachers, and administration.
  7. Utilizes student information systems (e.g., Infinite Campus, Insite) for data entry, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  8. Assists with Timeclock Plus
  9. Manage confidential communications, including discipline or special education paperwork.
  10. Accounts for and deposits Trust and Agency funds and other collected monies.
  11. Process purchase orders, supply requisitions, and invoices.
  12. Successfully completes First Aid, CPR, and SD Board of Nursing approved Medication Administration training and certification.
  13. Provides care/first aid for students with injury and/or illness. Care could be emergent or non-emergent in nature.
  14. Completes district accident reports.
  15. Provides care for students with chronic health conditions, in accordance with the student's care plan as delegated by the school nurse. Care could be emergent or non-emergent.
  16. Obtains authorization, logs, and dispenses medication to students, as delegated by the school nurse.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

IEP Facilitator

  1. Enters and maintains banks of student objectives and information for computerized IEP databases.
  2. Provides teachers with draft IEPs based on the teacher checklist.
  3. Elicits parent input for IEPs or evaluations.
  4. Contact parents to schedule IEP meetings and conferences.
  5. Completes and mails parent notices, with teacher input and principal signature.
  6. Disseminates and collects classroom teacher forms needed for Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to classroom teachers.
  7. Routes and disseminates quarterly and annual progress checks to be completed by teachers.
  8. Maintains a building list of student IEP and evaluation dates.
  9. Checks and updates the student list for the December 1 count.
  10. Monitors IEP and evaluation due dates, numbers of student suspensions, dates to implement transition plans and transfers of rights, and completion of all required paperwork.
  11. Routes and maintains all paperwork required for compliance with regulations.
  12. Participates in all compliance and computerized IEP training as requested by the District.
  13. Processes Special Education records requests.
  14. Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

PAY INFORMATION

Level KX, starting at $23.23 per hour

Pay Day: Last working day of each month.

HOURS & FTE

Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break

1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 9 months

CALENDAR
This position will support the Transition Program at Community Campus during the school year and during Extended School Year programs.

Approximately 205-208 days.

Estimated Start: August 2025
