Job Description:
- Promote the mission of Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools and model the teaching of the Catholic Church
- Support the growth and development of students in their faith
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities aligned with system curriculum maps that encourage active learning and student participation
- Monitor and evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback on assignments, and maintain accurate records of grades and progress
- Foster a welcoming and disciplined classroom environment while supporting students through pastoral care, encouragement, and mentorship
- Communicate regularly with parents, students, and staff regarding student progress and needs as well as attend parent-teacher conferences, school events, and departmental meetings to support the school community
- Take responsibility for classroom resources and the school environment, including creating bulletin boards and managing supplies
- Integrate relevant technology into teaching and stay up to date on new methods, resources, and developments in education to enhance instruction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Catholic in good standing with ability to be a spiritual leader of Bishop O†Gorman Catholic Schools
- State certification
- Exhibit the core values of Bishop O†Gorman Catholic Schools: Faith, Unity, Excellence, and Integrity
- Knowledge of relevant technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills
- Self-motivated with high energy
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work daytime hours, primarily Monday-Friday
- Clarity of vision
- Ability to speak English clearly
- Ability to hear and distinguish sounds, including speech, alarms and other work environment sounds
- Fine hand motor skills to include and not limited to keyboarding, writing, grasping, holding, and repetitive motion
- Ability to frequently sit, walk and stand through work day
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to intermittently bend, squat, and reach overhead
