Job Description
Dakota Digital, Inc., a leading manufacturer of digital automotive gauges and vehicle electronics, is offering a Summer Engineering Internship for students interested in gaining hands on experience in the automotive electronics industry.
This internship is intended for students who are currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college or technical program pursuing a degree in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar engineering field. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and learning how products move from design to production.
This role will work closely with our engineering and production teams and will provide exposure to real world manufacturing, electronics assembly, and product development.
Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting with electronics assembly and prototype builds
• PC board inspection and basic testing
• Hand soldering and rework (training provided)
• Assembly and testing of digital gauges and automotive electronic accessories
• Assisting engineers with product development tasks and documentation
• Supporting quality checks and troubleshooting
• Learning and following assembly routings and procedures
• Using various hand tools such as electric screwdrivers, needle nose pliers, and side cutters
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year program in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
• Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively
• Experience with hand tools or soldering is a plus, but not required
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience working alongside engineers and technicians in a fast paced manufacturing environment while contributing to real products used in the automotive aftermarket.
