Job Summary & RequirementsJob Summary:The position will process print onto a plate, mount print plates to cylinders according to production schedule to keep presses running. Will follow established procedures to ensure and maintain the quality of the printed material and clean and store plates and cylinders appropriately after use.
Duties/Responsibilities: - Utilizing job ticket information install print cylinders into proper mounting equipment and operating equipment in order to mount plates accurately into cylinders in a time frame to meet press schedule.
- Re-file cylinders and plates after completion of job.
- Recognize damage plates and order from Graphics.
- Maintain equipment in the department and flexible work within other departments.
- Involves generally routine or standardized activities involving some choice of action within the limits defined by standard instructions with only a moderate effect on the work of others.
- The position performs work as assigned, scheduled and prioritized by others.
- Responsibilities require daily/weekly time frame with events expected to occur during the course of a week or during any particular day.
- Impact of errors includes equipment and labor hours lost, material waste and potential loss of customer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Good mechanical aptitude and skills
- Proficient in measurements
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance instructions and manuals
- Ability to troubleshoot problems
- Willingness and ability to work with other team members and management
- Strong work ethic and good attitude towards work
- Honest, reliable team player
- Safety conscious and comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Education and Experience: - High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- 6 months or more Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
Physical Requirements: - Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms above and below shoulder level
- Regularly stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Regularly communicate in some manner either by speech/hearing or through written communication.
- Regularly use of vision abilities including close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly work around moving machinery and heavy equipment.
- Frequently required to push/pull.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently exposed to high-speed moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to UV, strobing or flashing light.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes, dust or airborne particles.
- Regularly exposed to moderate noise level in the work environment.
