Sentinel Federal Credit Union is hiring a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Box Elder. This role works within the Accounting Department to process financial transactions, maintain accurate records, perform reconciliations, and help ensure the Credit Union’s financial operations run smoothly and accurately.

Pay Range
- Wage depends on direct experience, starting at $19.70/hour with flexibility up to $23.00/hour for a highly qualified applicant.

What You’ll Do
Process and record financial transactions including accounts payable, vendor payments, and journal entries
Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy
Prepare and maintain accounting files, invoices, and payment documentation in an organized and timely manner
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and preparation of financial reports
Communicate with vendors, staff, and management to resolve discrepancies and answer questions
Support audits, reporting requirements, and ongoing improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
Who You Are
At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; additional accounting or college coursework preferred
One to three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and accounting software
Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information accurately
Friendly, organized, and dependable
Comfortable multitasking and learning new systems
Able to sit, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
