Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital seeks a full-time Accreditation Specialist –PT  to join its growing team in providing personal and innovative care in a patient-centered medical environment. The Accreditation Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of continual survey readiness for accreditation, licensure, and certifications.


  1. Identify/facilitate issues/initiatives for accreditation, licensure, and certifications.

  • Assists with updates in AAHHS chapter departmental manuals.

  • Ensures all activities and projects comply with State Department of Health, and CMS and AAHHS/HFAP Standards.

  • Organizes, prepares and facilitates Hospital re-accreditation activities and survey visits.

  • Develops Plan of Correction and follows through to resolve all issues.

  • Collaborates with Quality Specialist and Infection Prevention Nurse including, but not limited to, participating in Environmental and Safety Rounds.

  • Researches studies, promotes and supports systems and processes to achieve safe, cost-effective, high quality and compliant health care.

  • Identifies regulatory and accreditation changes that impact hospital processes/policies/procedures, and facilitates discussion, education and related document changes.

  • Participates in various teams and committees focusing on regulatory compliance as assigned.

  • Participates in Quality Council.

  • Keeps abreast of all hospital standards, regulations and best practices.

  • Maintains RN capabilities.


  1. Manages Policy and Procedure Software.

  • Assists with development of policies and procedures.

  • Monitors and assigns policies for annual review and revisions.

  • Proficient in software to educate end users and run reports as indicated.



  1. Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program. Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care or Business Management preferred. 

  • Licensed in the state of South Dakota. BLS certified.

  • Five plus years clinical experience to understand the patient care process, as well as experience in accreditation and survey activities.
