Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' substance abuse issues and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to clients to address underlying causes of addiction and develop coping mechanisms.
- Lead group therapy sessions to support clients in their recovery journey and foster a sense of community.
- Monitor clients' progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with clients' families and other healthcare providers to ensure holistic care.
- Provide education and resources to clients and their families to support long-term recovery.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in addiction counseling to provide the highest quality care to clients.
- Participate in regular team meetings and supervision to ensure effective delivery of care.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- Licensed or certified as an Addictions Counselor in the state of South Dakota.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of addiction counseling.
- Strong understanding of substance abuse disorders and treatment approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with clients.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn and grow in the field of addiction counseling.
