Become a part-time Teen Development Specialist with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire and lead engaging educational, recreational, and arts activities for middle and high school students in a safe, inclusive environment. Apply today and start making a difference before the school year begins!
Your Role:
- Engage and Inspire: Support educational, recreational, and STEAM-based activities that keep teens motivated and excited to participate, including age-appropriate themes, activities, and field trips.
- Guide and Supervise: Maintain a safe, structured, and fun environment while supervising teens, ensuring a staff-to-youth ratio of 1:20, and fostering positive relationships and participation.
- Promote Safety and Community: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies while building a welcoming, inclusive environment where teens feel supported and encouraged.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education & Experience: Preferred experience or education in adolescent development, secondary education, or youth behavior management. Must be at least 18 years of age. CPR certification required within 90 days (training provided if needed).
- Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, reliability, and the ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team. Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills are essential.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, kneel, lift, and engage in low-level activities with frequent lifting under 20 pounds and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds. Indoor work with occasional outdoor activities in varying temperatures.
