Join Our Residential Property Management Team as an Apartment Maintenance Technician!

Are you a skilled Residential Maintenance Technician ready to bring your expertise to a growing, well-established company? Van Buskirk Companies is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining our apartment homes and ensuring tenant satisfaction by performing a variety of maintenance tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring our properties are always in top condition. What You Will Do:

• Perform general repairs and maintenance in residential apartments, including drywall repairs, painting, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building upkeep.
• Prepare and repair apartment homes for new tenants, ensuring they meet move-in standards.
• Restore damages, handle minor renovations, and install or remove appliances as needed.
• Address minor plumbing issues by replacing or repairing components.
• Diagnose and efficiently resolve mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, to detect potential problems early.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and walking paths to ensure safety.
• Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working condition.
• Collaborate with team members to complete maintenance tasks and projects on time.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including logs and reports.
• Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and techniques for greater efficiency.

What We Are Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus. A combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in property management or a similar role.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance; job requires driving between apartment complexes.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools used in maintenance and repair work.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and interact with clients.
• A motivated self-starter who can work independently, set goals, and complete tasks within assigned timeframes.
• Someone who takes pride in their work and consistently stives for Excellence.
• Attention to detail, with a strong commitment to safety protocols and maintaining quality standards.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks for an entire shift.
