Come Help Our Apprentices Shine! LMS Administrator Role

We're seeking a friendly and organized individual to join our team and help us create a fantastic learning experience for our over 500 apprentices. As our LMS Administrator, you'll be the heart of our online training platform, ensuring everything runs smoothly and our apprentices have the resources they need to succeed.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Learning Management System (LMS), which includes setting things up and making sure it's easy for everyone to use. You'll collaborate with our staff to get awesome training content online and be a friendly point of contact for apprentices, tracking their progress and offering support whenever they need it.

A key part of this role involves ensuring we meet compliance requirements and assisting with reporting to partners like the US DOL and VA. You'll also help us keep apprentice records organized and lend a hand with sharing the word about our program through marketing and outreach efforts. Supporting some of our financial processes related to apprentice fees will also be part of your contribution.

This position is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and we're open to discussing hybrid work arrangements. You'll report to our Executive Director and be a vital part of our supportive team

$60k - $70k depending on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • LMS Management and Programming:
    • Lead the planning, implementation, and ongoing administration of the organization's Learning Management System (LMS) We will train on the LMS!
    • Work with Training Director to configure the LMS to effectively deliver curriculum, track progress, manage assessments, and facilitate communication for all apprenticeship levels.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to the LMS and provide support to instructors and apprentices.
  • Content Delivery and Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with the Training Director and instructors to understand learning objectives and translate curriculum into engaging and effective online content within the LMS.
    • Assist instructors in uploading, organizing, and managing course materials, including documents, videos, quizzes, and assignments within the LMS.
    • Provide training and support to instructors on utilizing the LMS effectively for content delivery, assessment, and communication.
    • Ensure consistency and quality of learning content across all apprenticeship levels within the LMS.
  • Apprentice Support and Tracking:
    • Develop and implement processes for apprentice enrollment, course registration, and progress tracking within the LMS.
    • Generate reports and analyze data related to apprentice engagement, performance, and completion rates within the LMS.
    • Collaborate with the Training Director to identify areas for improvement in the learning program based on LMS data.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to apprentices on navigating and utilizing the LMS effectively.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting to the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on behalf of apprentices.
    • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required documentation and reports to the USDOL and VA.
  • Record Management and Administration:
    • Maintain the apprentice database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all apprentice information.
    • Maintain comprehensive student records, including enrollment details, training progress, assessments, and certifications.
    • Manage and organize digital apprentice files.
  • Marketing and Outreach Support:
    • Assist with the organization's social media presence by creating and scheduling content related to the apprenticeship program.
    • Assist with marketing efforts to attract potential apprentices.
    • Assist with accounts receivable processes related to apprentice fees and tuition.
    • Work collaboratively with the executive director on financial matters related to the apprenticeship program.
  • Other Duties:
    • Participate in meetings, job fairs, and activities as required.
    • Undertake occasional travel to training sites or meetings within North and South Dakota.
    • Be available for occasional work on evenings and weekends as needed to support program needs.
    • Assist Executive Director in duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, information technology, business administration, or a related field.

Preferred: Experience in setup, administering, and managing a Learning Management System (LMS).

Preferred: Experience with apprenticeship programs or vocational training.

Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing principles.

Basic understanding of accounts receivable processes.

Excellent technical skills and proficiency in using various software applications.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally within North and South Dakota.
