Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Architectural Designer to lead both the creative design process and the day-to-day management of architectural projects. This role requires a professional who is equally strong in design thinking and project execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing design concepts, producing construction documentation, and managing teams, consultants, and clients throughout the project lifecycle—from concept to completion. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of architectural design, technical detailing, project budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination.

Hours (RSA): Working Hours: Mondays – Thursdays, 8am – 5pm; Fridays, 8am – Noon

Compensation: Starting at $60,000 per year

Key Accountabilities:

Design Development and Support - Contribute to the design process by developing creative and functional solutions under the guidance of senior architects.

  • Assist in concept development, space planning, and visualization.

  • Create diagrams, renderings, and presentation materials.

  • Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback.

Technical Drawing and Documentation - Produce accurate and code-compliant drawings that support project development and construction.

  • Draft plans, sections, elevations, and details using CAD/BIM tools.

  • Assist in assembling drawing sets for permitting and construction.

  • Learn and apply building codes, zoning, and ADA standards.

Project Coordination and Collaboration - Support coordination between disciplines and contribute to project delivery.

  • Attend coordination meetings with consultants and clients.

  • Track design changes and update documentation accordingly.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Professional Development and Licensure Preparation - Actively pursue growth toward architectural licensure and professional competency.

  • Log AXP hours and pursue ARE exam preparation.

  • Seek mentorship and feedback from licensed architects.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and technologies.

Quality and Standards Adherence - Uphold the firm’s design standards and contribute to high-quality project outcomes.

  • Follow internal documentation and graphic standards.

  • Review work for accuracy and completeness.

  • Support sustainable and ethical design practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in architectural design.

  • Experience managing projects from concept through construction.

  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical skills.

  • Proficiency in design and documentation software, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam and rendering tools (e.g., Enscape, Lumion, V-Ray).

  • In-depth knowledge of construction detailing, building codes, permitting, and materials.

  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities for working with teams, clients, and consultants.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Familiarity with contract administration and construction site coordination.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional licensure (or actively pursuing licensure).

  • Strong consideration given to the candidate that possesses excellent Revit proficiency as the vast majority of all work product will be generated utilizing this software along with Enscape.

  • Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection.

  • Knowledge of sustainable design and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL).

  • Experience in various project types such as commercial, residential, mixed-use, or institutional.
