Ascend Intern - City of Sioux Falls Civic Analytics GIS & Data

Job Summary

  • Provide support and analysis to the City of Sioux Falls enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS), enterprise asset management, and data governance programs.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of the City’s tabular, planimetric, topographic topologic, cadastral, and geospatial datasets.
  • Design, develop and evaluate solutions using the ArcGIS stack, business intelligence tools, models, automation, and other related applications.
  • Create, edit, manage, analyze, report, display, and publish solutions using spatial and other data analysis procedures.
  • This is a 2026 summer internship.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Students enrolled in a Geography, GIS, or Data Science curriculum, or related field, as a full-time student at a college, university, or vocational technical school.
  • Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
