Job Description

Position will be posted until filled. Hiring managers will actively review applications, scheduling interviews, and hiring candidates as they see fit.
Salary: $18.48/hour

Open until filled

  • Work directly with a $3 million grant from the U.S. Forest Service that the City of Sioux Falls received.
  • Assist with program contract administration and compliance.
  • Monitor newly planted trees for health and maintenance needs.
  • Identify new planting sites for ongoing program support.
  • Provide community outreach and education in support of the CommuniTree Assistance Program.

  • This is a 2026 summer internship.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Students enrolled in a forestry, arboriculture, natural resources management, horticulture, landscape design, or closely related curriculum, as a full-time student at a college, university, or vocational technical school.
  • Ability to identify various tree species.
  • Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work a 40-hour flexible schedule that includes potential for nights, weekends, and holidays.
