Ascend Intern - City of Sioux Falls Public Health

$19.57/Hourly

  • Learn about and support community-wide public health planning efforts aimed at improving the health and well-being of Sioux Falls residents.
  • Assist with collection, organization, and summary of community health data for the Community Health Assessment (CHA).
  • Support development and tracking of goals, strategies, and metrics for the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
  • Help prepare reports, presentations, and basic data visualizations.
  • Participate in community engagement activities, meetings, and stakeholder outreach.
  • Assist with public health initiatives, education efforts, and special projects as assigned.
  • This is a 2026 summer internship.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Students currently enrolled in a public health, community health, health sciences, sociology, or data analytics curriculum as a full-time student at a college, university, or vocational technical school.
  • Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with data analysis or visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, GIS, SAS, etc.)
