Salary: $55,000-$69,000/annually (Depending on Education/Experience)

Schedule: Monday to Friday Daytime Hours with some evening/weekend work required.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Director of Development & Events will help promote Children's Home Society, primarily Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety, in the community by organizing events and tours that are designed to attract new donors and help engage current ones for developmental purposes. This individual will also help secure sponsorships for these events, coordinate and lead fundraising activities, and manage relationships with media partners.

What You Will Do:

  • Event Administration: Plan, coordinate, and facilitate special fundraising events. Create and disperse invitations, invitation lists, and promotional materials for events. Solicit cash sponsorships and gift-in-kind donations.
  • Media: Assist in preparing spokespersons for media interviews and provide key messages and talking points. Conducting media interviews.
  • Donor Relations: Maintain existing sponsorships and vendors for CHS events. Develop a strategy for generating new sponsorship opportunities and donors for CHS events.
  • Donor Records: Maintain complete and accurate donor records, documentation of donor contact, and other pertinent information. Ensure proper gift receipting to meet donor needs and comply with IRS standards.
  • Community Engagement: Offer tours, presentations, and in-person visits to individuals, businesses, service organizations, churches, or other groups.
  • Donations: Create and promote the “wish list” of in-kind gifts for potential donors.
  • Marketing Materials: Gather necessary content for marketing materials that promote the Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety, working directly with CHS Marketing team to meet brand standards.

Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising/event management.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and software utilized by office.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc. Extended PC viewing and keyboarding required. Extended periods of sedentary work required.
