Job Requirements:

Education: High School education or equivalent.
Experience: Must have as a minimum, two year’s experience in a health care setting.
Must be CNA certified or willing to become certified.

Shift:

Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM or 9AM-5PM, with weekend rotation with other managers.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this job position is to coordinate activities and programs to fill the needs of the clients of the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen and to perform and assist with all requirements of the facility as needed including performing and developing such programs in accordance with current regulations and guidelines.

Duties and responsibilities:

ADMINISTRATIVE
• Assist to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the activities services of Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
• Assist to develop department policies and procedures; administer and coordinate policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and dependability.
• Make recommendations for supplies and equipment.
• Participate in and recommend educational and training programs specific to Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
• Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective actions.
• Report problems to the Life Enhancement Director.
• Conduct rounds and initiate corrective action as necessary.
• Maintain a quality working relationship with the medical profession and other related facilities and
organizations.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm
environment throughout the center.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspection) made by authorized government agencies.
• Maintain a productive working relationship with other departments.
• Coordinate with other departments.
• Assist to operate within the budgetary guidelines established. Report any deviation to the Director of Life Enhancement.
• Assist to identify and correct problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
• Establish open lines of communication with consultants and referrals, and assist to consistently take follow-up action on recommendations.
• Assist to review complaints and grievances made by personnel, residents, family members and/or visitors. Assist to provide information/reports/solutions to the applicable department coordinator.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in programs of training.

CARE SERVICES
• Assist to direct, evaluate and supervise life enhancement services. Initiate corrective action as necessary.
• Assist to ensure the admission process is completed with new clients to the center.
• Assist to ensure assessment and assist in the development of individualized plans of care.
• Assist to involve the client/family in planning events and entertainment programs when possible.
• Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.
• Review notes on resident care record to keep informed of personnel observations, needs or problems
concerning the resident.
• Assist to ensure completion of all paperwork for residents.

PERSONNEL
• Be familiar with Personnel Law that is applicable for supervisors.
• Follow facility policies, procedures and guidelines regarding Personnel issues.
• Collaborate with Life Enhancement Director to ensure a responsible staff member is available to act if you are absent from the facility.
• Assist in recruitment of staff as requested.
• Assist to ensure staff follows safety policies and procedures.
• Assist to Ensure staff completes proper reports and forms when required and as established by department and facility policies and procedures.
• Assist to ensure that personnel utilize appropriate infection control policies and procedures.
• Counsel/coach/discipline department personnel as requested or as necessary, and ensure disciplinary action is
administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex religion, handicap, or martial status.

Pay and benefits:
Starting Pay: $15.00/hour, wage dependent on experience
