Assistant Project Manager/Estimator
At Sunkota Construction, we deliver high-quality commercial projects across Sioux Falls and the surrounding region. We’re a growing general contractor focused on strong client relationships, efficient project delivery, and developing the next generation of construction leaders.
We are looking for a motivated Assistant Project Manager/Estimator to support our Project Managers and help drive projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in supporting project execution through coordination, documentation, and communication. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into a full Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination
- Manage and track submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
- Help develop and update project schedules and budgets
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff
- Assist with bid packages, scope reviews, and subcontractor procurement
- Track and process change orders and project costs
- Support site visits, progress tracking, and quality control efforts
- Help coordinate inspections, punch lists, and project closeout
- Maintain organized project files and clear communication with the team
Qualifications
- Experience in construction (project engineer, APM, field, or estimating)
- Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferable.
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, or similar tools is a plus
