Job Description
Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota invites applications for a full-time Associate Registrar. This position is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of academic records and supporting the operations of the Registrar’s Office. Reporting to the Registrar, the Associate Registrar collaborates with faculty and staff to enhance the student experience, streamline processes, and maintain academic policy. Start date is January 15, 2026.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Ensure accurate academic records; maintain FERPA compliance; manage grade processing, enrollment/degree verification, and transcript services.
Administer degree audit, substitutions/exceptions, degree conferral, and commencement processes; monitor on-time progress to degree.
Serve as functional lead for the student information system (SIS); optimize degree audit, electronic forms, and workflow automations.
Provide responsive service to students and faculty; partner with academic advisors, Financial Aid, Business Office, IT, and others to resolve issues and improve processes.
Communicate deadlines, policies, procedures, and requirements to students, staff, and faculty.
Supervise student workers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA, academic policy, and records best practices.
Proficiency with a student information system (e.g. Banner, Colleague, Jenzabar, Workday).
Strong commitment to student-centered service, accuracy, and data integrity.
Ability to work on a deadline and manage several tasks simultaneously with consistent follow through.
Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
