Job Description

Lead the Shop. Drive Quality. Build a Team You’re Proud Of.

Are you an experienced auto body shop manager, lead tech, or production supervisor ready to take full ownership of a busy, well-run shop? We’re looking for a hands-on Auto Body Shop Manager who understands collision repair, people management, and what it takes to deliver quality work on time while keeping customers and insurers confident and informed.

This role is ideal for someone who has already worked in an auto body environment and wants the opportunity to run the shop like it’s their own—leading technicians, improving workflow, and driving results without micromanagement.

What You’ll Do

You’ll oversee daily shop operations while helping us scale smartly, efficiently, and with pride in our work.

Operations & Production

  • Run day-to-day shop operations, production flow, and repair scheduling

  • Ensure vehicles are repaired accurately, efficiently, and delivered on time

  • Balance workloads across technicians to keep production moving smoothly

  • Monitor labor efficiency, quality, and throughput

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and develop technicians and painters

  • Set expectations, coach performance, and help build a strong shop culture

  • Schedule shifts and adjust workloads as business volume grows

  • Conduct performance reviews and address issues when necessary

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure repairs meet manufacturer, insurance, and company quality standards

  • Perform final inspections before vehicle delivery

  • Enforce OSHA, DOT, and shop safety procedures

Customer & Insurance Relations

  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers and resolve concerns professionally

  • Communicate repair progress and timelines clearly

  • Work directly with insurance adjusters on estimates, supplements, and approvals

Financial & Business Management

  • Help manage shop profitability, labor costs, parts costs, and expenses

  • Review estimates, supplements, and invoices for accuracy

  • Track KPIs such as labor hours, gross profit, and rework

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting

Facility & Inventory

  • Oversee equipment upkeep and facility condition

  • Manage parts ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in auto body shop management, assistant management, production management, or lead technician roles

  • Strong understanding of collision repair processes and production flow

  • Experience working with insurance companies and supplements

  • Comfortable leading a small team and pitching in when needed

  • Organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-changing environment

  • Strong communication skills with customers, insurers, and staff

Why You’ll Like Working Here

  • Small company feel where your ideas and experience matter

  • Opportunity to help shape processes as the business grows

  • Less bureaucracy, more ownership

  • A leadership role with room to grow as the company expands

If you’re looking for more than just a job—and want to be part of a growing auto body business where you can truly make an impact—we’d love to hear from you.
