Job Description
Certified Auto Glass is seeking a dependable, motivated, and professional Auto Glass Technician to join our team. This position provides auto glass repair and replacement services on a wide variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, semi-trucks, and heavy equipment.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, communicates well, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can independently problem-solve and take initiative on each job. Training and hands-on instruction will be provided for specialized services, including custom glass cutting, power-window repair, and recalibration services.
Responsibilities
- Perform professional auto glass repair and replacement services.
- Work on all types of vehicles, including cars, pickup trucks, commercial vehicles, RVs, semi-trucks, and larger machinery.
- Inspect damaged glass and determine the appropriate repair or replacement solution.
- Remove and install windshields, door glass, back glass, quarter glass, and other automotive glass.
- Learn to measure, cut, and install custom glass for larger machinery and specialty applications.
- Diagnose and repair power-window systems, including regulators, motors, switches, and related components.
- Assist with or perform vehicle safety-system recalibration services as required.
- Use tools, adhesives, primers, and equipment safely and correctly.
- Protect customers’ vehicles and maintain a clean work area.
- Complete work orders, inspection forms, and other required documentation.
- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management.
- Identify problems, develop solutions, and take initiative to keep jobs moving.
- Follow all company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Auto glass, automotive, mechanical, construction, or related hands-on experience is preferred.
- Must be able to problem-solve and take initiative on jobs.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and professional conduct.
- Must be able to safely lift and carry heavy objects, including windshields and large pieces of glass.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
- Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be willing to travel to mobile service locations when needed.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
