Job Description
Northland Motorcars is expanding. We are launching a service center and we need an experienced tech to anchor the shop.
This is not a seat-filler position. You will be one of the goto technicians in the building — expected to handle the complex stuff, set the quality bar, and help shape how the shop runs day to day.
Here is what you need to know up front: you will never sit idle waiting for work. The shop is fully backed by our dealership lot. There is a built-in pipeline of domestic and import vehicles coming through from day one — inventory reconditioning, pre-sale inspections, and retail customer repairs.
What You'll Work On
- Advanced diagnostics: electrical, drivability, engine performance, and module programming
- Full-spectrum repair across a mixed domestic and import vehicle portfolio — late-model sedans, SUVs, and light-duty trucks
- Pre-sale multi-point inspections and reconditioning on dealership inventory
- Complex, time-sensitive jobs that need to be done right the first time
What We Offer
- Guaranteed volume: your bay stays full because our lot keeps it full
- Brand-new equipment — we are equipping the shop now. You will have a voice in what we bring in. No worn-out lifts or outdated gear
- Honest pay: competitive hourly base with real performance upside — not book-time politics
- Monday through Friday only. No weekends. Keep your personal time
- Small team, direct local management. Your expertise is respected here
Job Requirements
5+ years of professional shop experience with demonstrated master-level diagnostic ability
ASE Master Technician certification preferred — but we care more about what you can actually do than what is on paper
Deep competency with advanced scan tools, oscilloscopes, and OEM software (J2534, Autel, Snap-on, or equivalent)
Proven track record on difficult electrical and drivability complaints — not just parts-swapping
Valid driver's license, clean record, and your own professional tool set
A direct communicator who can work with management and junior techs without friction
