Job Description
Summary
The Bilingual/Spanish Outpatient Mental Health Counselor provides culturally sensitive and linguistically competent mental health counseling services to clients in an outpatient setting. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy. The counselor will primarily work with Spanish-speaking clients and must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a client base through marketing professional services with the support of Family Service Inc.
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
- Provide individual, couple, group, and/or family therapy sessions to clients.
- Monitor and document client progress.
- Stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in the field of mental health.
- Be an active participant in the clinical team.
- Be willing to provide therapy services via Telehealth when appropriate.
- -Ensure consistent and ongoing communication with the Leadership Team.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and staff training.
- Maintains a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Flexible scheduling to meet the needs of clients served.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Required Skills/Abilities
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work.
- State licensure or certification as a Counselor, Therapist or Social Worker
- Experience working with diverse populations and culturally sensitive counseling approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an outpatient mental health setting.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
