POSITION SUMMARY
The Bill of Materials Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and auditing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to reflect current product designs, while also coordinating the planning and availability of raw materials to meet production schedules. This role ensures that product configurations, material requirements, and inventory planning are aligned throughout the product lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in relevant systems (e.g., PLM, ERP) to support production and engineering needs.
- Ensure BOMs are up-to-date, accurate, and complete, reflecting all design changes and engineering revisions.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and other departments to gather information and resolve BOM-related issues.
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and update BOMs accordingly to reflect current product specifications and requirements.
- Ensure BOMs adhere to company standards, engineering requirements, and industry regulations.
- Review production schedules and specifications to ensure alignment with material planning and upload key details to the ERP system.
- Support the development and release of BOMs for new products in coordination with engineering and product development teams.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for all BOMs, ensuring version control and audit readiness.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
| Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience: - Associate’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of related BOM experience preferred.
- Experience in heavy truck and/or automotive systems preferred.

| Skills: Language: - Able to find, read, and interpret relevant scientific and technical documentation and standards.
- Able to actively participate in engineering discussions by listening, asking relevant questions, and suggesting solutions to problems.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.
Math: - Basic math functions and accounting abilities with a high aptitude for accuracy.
Computer: - Able to perform intermediate PC functions including the use of spreadsheet tables and formulas.
- Able to work within SolidWorks or PDM.
