About the Role

 

Responsible for the growth of consumer and business customer relationships, community engagement, and internal department relationships, while providing PREMIER customer service to all bank customers. Promote and advise on the bank's products and financial solutions. Oversee all branch staff, training, and performance and behavior standards.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Execute PREMIER customer service by greeting all customers promptly, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining confidentiality, and understanding the features and benefits of First PREMIER Bank's products and services.
  • Drive branch sales and revenue goals by proactively identifying and recommending banking products and services beneficial to the customer. Monitor and review branch profitability and proactively make recommendations to achieve growth objectives.
  • Recruit, train, retain and motivate staff to ensure customer experience and regulatory excellence.
  • Conduct staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Participate in budgeting process for the branch, including capital expenditures.
  • Assist Lead Teller to monitor Teller line staffing and schedule for optimal shifts and adequate coverage at the branch.
  • Process customer and commercial requests for account opening/closures including Checking, Certificate of Deposits, Savings, Money Market, and IRA accounts; Maintain customer accounts, addresses, and etc.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the deposit and loan account platforms and all other applications within the core system.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of consumer loan underwriting, including real estate and credit policy procedure with a minimum approval authority of $75,000 and maintains a working knowledge of the Fair Debt Collections Privacy Act to successfully manage accounts.
  • Monitor the quality of the loan portfolios at the branch location making sure they stay within designated standards.
  • Initiate calling program activities and participate in community events creating brand awareness. Establish a successful referral network to grow new customers and identify opportunities to expand existing relationships through direct customer contact and outbound sales calls.
  • Interview, hire, and train new staff. Provide constructive and timely performance reviews. Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Conduct weekly teller assessments and individual one-on-ones monthly.

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Express ideas, request action, and formulate plans by means of clear and effective verbal communications to respond to customers and/or organizational needs.
  • Understand and effectively use standard office equipment and software packages to support business processes.
  • Work at a proficient level to recognize sales opportunities during service interactions to enhance overall customer service.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that promotes an effective and productive work unit.
  • Effectively manage time to ensure prompt completion of tasks and duties.
  • Work with full competence to analyze and manage accounts to the mutual benefit to the customer and organization. Ability to maintain a strong attention to detail.
  • Leading, mentoring, and motivating the branch to reach performance goals on a consistent basis.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, clear and effective verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of customer service experience in banking, financial services, or retail required.
  • 2 years of leadership experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience in sales preferred.
