This is a Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly position with the Bureau of Human Resources and Administration (BHRA). For more information on BHRA, please visit https://boa.sd.gov/ .
This position will be public facing and responsible for greeting and assisting the public coming into the Sioux Falls One-Stop building by answering their questions and providing directions and information about the building. This position will also be the professional point of contact for all vendors, 3rd party contractors, and other state employees visiting from other parts of the state. It will also involve continuous communication with all agencies within the building on multiple matters and items relating to routine day to day operations.
Job tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing assigned professional tasks to facilitate and support One-stop building operations and other state requirements.
- Compiling reports, prepares operational documentation, and other information concerning building operations.
- Scheduling travel.
- Directing public facing representative of the State of South Dakota "One-Stop" located at the main front public entrance.
- Providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) information, knowledge, and experience dealing with the public and other professionals to provide information and direction to both the visiting public and state agency personnel on all items related to building daily operations, locations within the building, and liaison with other agencies to collect information or relay information daily.
- Facilitating daily mail operations for entire building.
- Assisting with Fleet management items when necessary.
- Assisting FAS Building Operations Officer and Director regularly with secretarial duties including, but not limited to: scheduling, clerical items, and reporting requirements for the state.
- Helping to develop operational approaches and ideas by communication with the Building Operations Officer and FAS Director day to day experiences and any changes or approaches that might better help both building operations and, services we provide the public.
- Performing other work as assigned.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must have valid Drivers License.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
An Associate's Degree is preferred. Experience in office secretarial work and duties working with the general public and other professionals daily is also preferred. Communication skills, honesty, friendly positive attitude, sense of urgency and willingness to serve others will all prove valuable to the person filling this position. This position requires hands on teamwork working with multiple state government agencies and contract employees.
Knowledge of:
- computer software applications to include Microsoft outlook, word and excel; and the ability to learn other computer systems as utilized by state employees.
Skill to:
- serve others and provide a positive customer experience for both external and internal customers;
- show respect for everyone you interact with;
- be a self-starter, prioritize and show initiative; and,
- display a friendly, positive can do attitude every day.
Ability to:
- work with the public, other professionals, and contract employees;
