We are looking for a new Business Relationship Manager (BRM) with excellent customer service skills who excels in a fast-paced environment. The BRM serves as the primary liaison between state agencies and BIT, advocating for agency technology needs and helping deliver effective solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building collaborative relationships with assigned agencies and BIT teams.
  • Maintaining deep knowledge of agency structures, processes, and technology requirements.
  • Translating business needs into actionable technology projects and solutions.
  • Communicating technical concepts in understandable terms to diverse stakeholders.
  • Facilitating timely resolution of technology-related issues.
  • Supporting RFP/RFI processes, technology acquisitions, and contract reviews.
  • Leading and mentoring teams to achieve customer satisfaction and support agency goals.


The BRM role combines strategic advocacy, operational coordination, and relationship management to deliver value and drive technology success for state agencies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • a degree in computer science, business, communications or related field (preferred);
  • experience working in state government or other bureaucracies (preferred);
  • five or more years of professional work experience (preferred).

  • ability to analyze and think quickly to resolve interpersonal and technical conflicts;
  • ability to lead meetings;
  • principles and concepts of computer science;
  • communicate with technical and non-technical clients and translate their needs, ideas, or suggestions;
  • communicate information concisely and accurately, both oral and written;
  • work in a team environment;
  • work independently with minimal supervision;
  • meet schedules and timelines;
  • take initiative.


This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
