Sentinel Federal Credit Union is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Business Services Officer to join our Business/Commercial Lending team. In this role, you will serve as a primary contact for members with business lending and depository needs while developing and expanding relationships with both current and potential members.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through business development, commercial lending, relationship management, and portfolio oversight. You’ll work closely with members and lending professionals to evaluate credit opportunities, structure loans, maintain strong relationships, and support the continued success of our Business/Commercial Lending team.

Pay Range
- Starting pay $65,000-$120,000/year plus bonus incentives

What You’ll Do
- Develop new business banking opportunities and relationships through community involvement, networking, and exceptional service to current and potential members.
- Serve as a trusted resource for members with business lending and depository needs.
- Collect, evaluate, and analyze commercial loan requests involving a variety of corporate and financial structures to determine eligibility and appropriate loan structure.
- Work directly with applicants to negotiate loan structures, including fees, repayment options, and other credit terms.
- Manage and monitor an existing commercial loan portfolio to help maintain asset quality and strong member relationships.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date member files, including financial statements, tax returns, and required loan documentation.
- Participate in the collection process for commercial loans and work to develop revised repayment terms when appropriate.
- Prepare and present commercial credit memorandums to the Loan Committee, Chief Lending Officer, or CEO.
- Partner closely with Credit Analysts, Loan Processors, and other lending team members to support an efficient and effective lending process.
- Provide recommendations to management regarding product improvements and changes.
- Stay informed about lending standards, legal requirements, local real estate trends, and competitive market conditions.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the Business/Commercial Lending team.
Who You Are
- At least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of five years of direct experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of lending practices, financial analysis, and commercial credit.
- Familiarity with credit union products, services, policies, procedures, and service philosophy.
- Strong understanding of lending standards, applicable legal requirements, and local market trends.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate financial information and develop appropriate lending solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex information.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple member needs, priorities, and deadlines.
- Able to maintain confidential records and handle sensitive financial information appropriately.
- Professional and personable, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with members, coworkers, and business partners.
- Able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and resolve problems effectively.

- Is adaptable, organized, and able to prioritize competing member needs while maintaining a high level of service.
- Represents Sentinel professionally and takes pride in contributing to the financial success of our members and the Credit Union.
