We are seeking a Buyer in our Sioux Falls, SD office to join our growing team. ABOUT THE POSITION
Our Buyer – will be responsible for working closely with production, drafting, and sales team to understand production timelines, follow up on open items and organize inventory within the warehouse. Manage purchasing schedules for projects and costs to ensure budgets are in line with projections. This role involves strategic planning, purchasing optimization, and team management to achieve company goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a buyer or supply chain role, excellent organizational skills, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence.
The successful candidate will be a self starter, with a positive attitude who is self-motivated, flexible, and committed to working hard with the Creative Surfaces team.
Key Responsibilities
Create and send purchase orders for products, goods and services
Review packing list and follow up on back-ordered products
Process Return Material Authorization and Supplier Corrective Actions
Review production prints to ensure all the necessary parts were requested and ordered
Track cost and reason for any urgent production orders
Process and put away inbound purchases
Verify items received match the associated invoices
Monitor project timelines and communicate back to production and operations teams.
Organize and manage inventory with the warehouse
Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
The role of our Buyer can be physically demanding and requires candidates to meet the following bona fide requirements:
- Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk upstairs.
- Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel, and reach with arms
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift and move up to 75 lbs.
- Capability to work in various physical positions, including sitting, standing, bending, crouching, and working at heights.
- Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Manual dexterity required to operate computer, forklift and peripherals
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to effectively manage relationships with suppliers, other departments, and colleagues.
Highly organized with strong attention to details, multi-tasking is a must
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Negotiation experience
- Ability to work and communicate well with others.
- Computer literate
- Proficient in Google Suites, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
