The Department of Public Safety is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a Capitol Protective Services (CPS) Monitor position. The primary duty of this job involves monitoring security cameras across multiple buildings to detect potential threats and unlawful activities and report them promptly to Law Enforcement. The role also entails answering phone calls, relaying messages, and maintaining an activity log. The ideal candidate must possess excellent observation skills to monitor visitors entering the security room and detect any prohibited items on their person and through x-ray machines. This position requires the flexibility to work all shifts, including mornings, days, nights, overnights, and weekends.

Licenses and Certifications:
A valid driver's license is required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
The candidate must possess the ability to follow instructions, move around the Capitol and other state buildings, maintain an activity log, and communicate effectively.

This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
