Carpenter / Site-Supervisor
As a general carpenter and site-supervisor, you'll play a key role in building and rehabilitating homes. Working under the guidance of the Construction Manager, you'll help groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers—including future homeowners—through daily construction tasks, all while promoting a safe and productive work environment. This role requires hands-on participation in construction activities and volunteer management, with a focus on safety and mission alignment.
JOB DUTIES:
- Performs hands-on construction tasks as directed by the Construction Manager
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, nail guns, saws, and other tools as directed by management.
- Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches.
- Follows all safety procedures on the job site and reports violations immediately to management.
- Maintains a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
- Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
- Report incidents immediately to construction manager in accordance with incident reporting procedures established by the company.
- Assists in site preparation and layout.
- Assists in training volunteers and partner families about construction tasks and appropriate safety measures.
- Continues builds and preps for the next scheduled workday when there are no volunteers.
- Helps maintain a flow of tasks that will make good use of the volunteers’ time, engaging them as soon as possible after they arrive on site and keep them engaged throughout the day.
- Treats partner families and volunteers with respect and dignity.
- Performs other duties as needed or requested.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This person reports to the Construction Manager and works alongside another Site Supervisor. This person works in a team atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation with all staff and volunteers.
THIS POSITION IS FULL-TIME/HOURLY/NON-EXEMPT. PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE. TUESDAY-SATURDAY WORK WEEK.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
