Job Description – Level 2 Carpenter
Expectations/Responsibilities:
• Safely work in all conditions, including:
o Wearing the proper PPE
o Understanding and implementing proper fall protection systems
o Using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts in a safe manner
• Be on time
• Clean up jobsites daily and as needed, including but not limited to sweeping, dusting, mopping, taking out trash, etc.
• Perform laborious tasks such carrying material, unloading and loading material and tools, organizing and stacking materials, etc.
• Properly maintain tools and equipment (example: daily oiling of pneumatics)
• Properly and safely use tools such as, measuring tape, hand tools, power saws, power drills, coping saws, detail tools, caulk guns, miter saws, lifts, vehicles, equipment, trailers
• Understand and complete tasks without the presence of a supervisor.
• Properly fill out timecard or let their supervisor know when a mistake is made
• Fill out daily logs of all work completed/problems that occurred
• Handle materials and tools in a manner that does not cause any damage to finish, tools, equipment also ensuring the materials are covered or tied down in a manner does not result in damages
• Work well with others and take direction from supervisors.
• Take constructive criticism and learn from mistakes
• Perform carpentry tasks such as installing trim, cabinet and countertop, handrail and banister, stair stringers, framing etc. with little direction from supervisors
• Should have a basic understanding of reading shop drawings and blueprints
• Should show some level of critical thinking and problem solving
• Report to supervisors any damage or unsafe practices that occur around the jobsite
• Keep up a consistent and trackable level of production daily
• Quality checks on your own work and rework if needed
• Must present themselves in a professional manner on jobsites and in public while representing Cosand Construction
• Additional tasks may be required by order of Foreman, Superintendents, or Project Managers

The candidate must develop a broad understanding of the business, comprehend established best practices, and be dedicated to meeting the high level of customer service expected of all members of Cosand Construction. Adaptability to constantly shifting priorities and comfortability with change is required to execute a multitude of transactions. Creativity and ingenuity are desired for continuous enhancements and improvements in the role.

• Must have the ability to teach others the trade.
• Typically has 4+ years of experience as a carpenter.
Training:
• All Cosand employees will be trained to their level of employment and safety requirements, this will include on the job training as well as classroom training when it applies. Cosand Construction will provide all safety equipment and PPE that is needed for the task at hand.
