Total Fire Protection is seeking a Certified CDL Class A Semi-Truck Driver. A CDL Semi-Truck Driver is a professional driver authorized to operate large combination vehicles, like tractor-trailers, with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, including a towed unit exceeding 10,000 pounds.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Load and unload cargo
- Ensure cargo is secured properly compliant with safety requirements
- Follow safety procedures for transporting goods
- Perform pre-trip, and post-trip inspection of vehicle
- Records hours of service, distance travelled and fuel expenditure
- Manage bills of lading
- Maintain log books
- Communicate with field personal and customers
- Operate a forklift
- Follow all appropriate traffic laws
- Be able to lift 50 lbs
- Keep truck and associated equipment tidy and in good working order
Job Requirements:
Valid Class A CDL
21 years old
High School Diploma or GED
At least 6 months of experience
Can drive a manual
No more than 1 CMV on-road preventable accident in the last 2 years
No major CMV preventable accidents in the last 5 years
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
No DUI/DWI within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL
Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test. No drug related conviction within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL
