Position Description: Step into an instrumental role with opportunity to advance. Help conduct the smooth operation of a fast-paced—and friendly—financial planning office. This is a growing industry, and our business is also experiencing this growth.  Assist in daily business operations.  Work as a coworker of an independent advisor franchisee with a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial and locations in Beresford, Vermillion and Sioux Falls. This is a full-time position where we will train you in Beresford, and then you will work out of our Sioux Falls office. The person that applies for this position should have the willingness to obtain their Series 7 license.

Job Requirements
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Schedule appointments and prepare files for client meetings
- Maintain office calendar
- Communicate pertinent information to the team typically done though daily emails
- Prepare correspondence, such as forms, applications, and letters, for advisor and client signature
- Follow-up with Home Office on related issues
- General office duties such as mailing, copying, filing, ordering supplies, etc.
- Track and record your own hours and submit for approval on time for payroll.
- Handle service calls from clients and respond to them in a timely, friendly, and helpful manner
- Follow-up or contact clients when necessary
- When able resolve client issues, or involve advisor when needed to assist in the process

Key traits of a successful Administrative Assistant:
- Must enjoy working with people and clients as our work environment prioritizes frequent social interaction, collaboration and communication with our clients and co-workers
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Must have proficient understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel
- Must be able to learn other computer applications to complete job duties
- Strong situational awareness (SA)
- Direct attention to detail and organization
- Effective communication with client and advisors
- Effective and efficient time management, arrive to work on time and leave when work is completed
- Polite and clear phone manner
- Ability to multi-task, problem solve and prioritize!
- Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by advisor, SEC, FINRA, and Ameriprise procedures.
- Ability to self-motivate and prioritize to complete tasks in most effective and efficient manner.
- Desire to be a valued member of financial advising office team. We are looking for a coworker rather than an employee.
- Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and will adhere to Confidentiality Agreement
