This is a Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly position with the Bureau of Information and Technology - Enterprise Platforms and Infrastructure -Enterprise Collaboration Services. For more information on the Bureau of Information and Technology, please visit https://www.sd.gov/bit .
The successful incumbent will participate in a team setting, working on projects involving the implementation, operations and maintenance of the State of South Dakota's Microsoft cloud services in the BIT Enterprise Platforms and Infrastructure Division, Enterprise Collaboration Services team. The incumbent will assist various state agencies and BIT that are investing in cloud infrastructure. The incumbent will oversee and manage these cloud-based investments across the State of South Dakota to include researching features and advising on best practices. This position will assist clients with problem source identification and resolution; plan, install, and maintain Windows system software and applications in the cloud and on prem to ensure performance, integrity, and security; and provide problem diagnostic and resolution assistance for team members, external staff, and third-party providers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- support and troubleshooting on-prem and hybrid systems;
- how we manage and monitor our enterprise cloud usage and licensing across the organization and state;
- appropriate provisioning, monitoring, and decommissioning;
- financial considerations and oversight;
- overall planning for interoperability and integration points;
- governance structure principles and practices;
- information technology and resource management; and,
- project management.
Skills to:
- work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy;
- collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions;
- set up and maintain live metrics summaries for enterprise consideration;
- track multiple areas of responsibility with strong organizational skills;
- maintain current documentation architecture of installed systems; and,
- identify opportunities for process efficiencies and automation.
Ability to:
- develop, standardize, document and maintain the enterprise architecture across the organization including: business architecture, which is focused on guiding people, process and organizational change; technical architecture, which is focused on evolving the technical infrastructure; and security architecture, which is focused on managing IT risk through the exchange of information between people, systems and things inside and outside the organization;
- facilitate the research, evaluation, and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations;
- collaborate with state agencies and internal BIT to assist in technology implementation and modification activities;
- offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques as well as identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues;
- assist with designing the governance, assurance and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance;
- assist teams understanding options for migrations to the cloud and/or setting up hybrid solutions depending on most appropriate/cost effect/etc. implementation paths;
- communicate with technical and non-technical clients and translate their needs, ideas, or suggestions into logical solutions to business problems;
- assist developing and managing key performance metrics for various technical teams; and,
- analyze, resolve, and document information system errors.
