Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Reports to director and program coordinators
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- plans curriculum for the children in the classroom that is developmentally appropriate and helps children develop physically, cognitively, emotionally, socially and spiritually. (Lesson plans due into Director by the 15th of each month for the following month).
- Implement the daily program/schedule
- Assist with arranging for and attending field trips.
- Decorate the room including bulletin boards.
- Attend scheduled meetings
- Attend 20 hours of in-service training per school year as agreed upon with Director.
- Be familiar with state regulations as well as with Program Policies of HopeCare
- Submit monthly updates for Hope Lutheran’s Good News
- Develop a Welcome classroom letter
- Keep classroom binder up to date
- Maintain detailed and thorough child folders that shows progress, memories, and observations that can be shared with each classroom as the child progresses through the program.
- Keep emergency bag prepared and updated
- Delegate tasks as necessary and needed
- Meet with parents semi-annually to discuss child(ren)’s growth and development using approved progress report forms.
- Submit supply orders to Director.
- Oversee classroom budget.
- Meet expectations of classroom and teacher observations
- Meet and follow employee handbook
- Diapers and potty training
