Why This Role Matters
The Construction Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations related to commercial construction projects and operations.
This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting job cost accounting, processing financial transactions, assisting with month-end processes, and helping ensure projects and accounting records are maintained efficiently and accurately across the business.
What You’ll Do
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Verify invoice amounts, coding, and supporting documentation for accuracy
- Input construction job invoices into Procore and ensure proper job and cost coding
- Receive payments, post deposits, and maintain vendor records
- Verify outstanding invoices on vendor statements and follow up as needed
- Process lien waivers and certificates of insurance
Construction Job & Document Administration
- Create and maintain construction job files and documentation
- Establish construction jobs within Procore
- Maintain organized digital filing systems and job-related records
- Support accurate project setup and documentation management
Credit Card, Payroll & Financial Processing
- Verify, input, and reconcile credit card transactions and statements
- Process timesheet information necessary to facilitate payroll processing
- Verify and enter billable hours, PTO, overtime, and related payroll information
- Prepare checks and supporting documentation for processing and signature
Tax, Compliance & Accounting Support
- Review invoices for sales, excise, and use tax compliance
- Maintain vendor setup for 1099 processing and reporting
- Support reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end accounting processes
- Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records and documentation
Administrative Support
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and document management
- Support accounting and operational teams as needed

What You’ll Need
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required
- Construction accounting or job costing experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Experience with or ability to learn systems such as Procore, QuickBooks, and related accounting software
- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and general accounting processes
