CONSTRUCTION INTERN
SOUTH DAKOTA HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
South Dakota Housing is looking for a Construction Intern ready to take on projects and make an impact from day one. This internship will be a mix of hands-on work, structured learning, field exposure and professional development. If you're interested in construction, want to learn more about how homes and communities come together, and eager to learn from experienced professionals, this is the opportunity for you.
As our Construction Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience in residential off-site home construction, learn how we evaluate and monitor the physical condition of existing multifamily properties, and see firsthand how we ensure that new and renovated developments meet state and federal building codes, safety standards, and quality expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicant must be enrolled as a student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
- By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
- Preference given to students majoring in one of the following fields: construction management, construction technology, architecture, engineering or any other building related field
- Overnight travel may be required
- Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation
LOCATION: Pierre, SD
STARTING WAGE: $20.00 per hour
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday during business hours. 8-10 weeks | May/June through August
