Project Manager
At Sunkota Construction, we deliver high-quality commercial projects across Sioux Falls and the surrounding region. We’re a growing general contractor focused on strong client relationships, efficient project delivery, and a team-first culture.
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of commercial construction projects. This role works closely with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of commercial construction projects from start to finish
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Lead subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, and contract execution
- Oversee jobsite progress, quality control, and safety compliance
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Conduct regular project meetings and maintain clear communication.
- Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and project closeout
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of commercial construction project management experience
- Proven ability to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office
- Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Willingness to travel to local and regional job sites as needed
